October 10, 2007 is a date not yet recalled in the history books, but as regards the Web TV World it marks the beginning of a revolution - or a rewwwolution, the word preferred by those who are taking part in it – i.e. the launch of the web-tv (Twww) STREAMIT. We have tried it (and we have “overused” it) for you.
STREAMIT - TWWW
On October 10 2007, the New Deal studio launched its “rewwwolution” on the web, opening new horizons in the online communications and entertainment world: Twww broadcasts, i.e. STREAMIT, have started!!!
Anyone of us, by connecting to the portal STREAMIT, can enjoy hours of broadband video and as many as 72 high-quality thematic channels on: information, culture, documentaries (for example, we want to report the Istituto Luce channel with historical and cultural content of undisputed quality level), fashion, music, but also current news, cartoons....
STREAMIT offer is indeed very large, free and accessible; it is all within reach of a mouse click, with such a video “loading” (display) speed - including during the “zapping” –to be envied by some emblazoned satellite platforms envy. Out of curiosity, our technicians have subjected STREAMIT to a “stress test” and they have always reported very short video display times (almost instantaneous), exceptional image quality and excellent control interface to switch from one channel to another one, or from a content to another one within the same channel. All this is possible also connecting with computers a little bit more “old” and with not so fast broadband connections (as it can often happen).
To meet the needs of an increasingly larger and more cross-sectional audience, the New Deal has imagined and created the first worldwide spread television container streaming broadcasting for free via Internet, in high definition and in total full screen. We can define it as the television of the future from now on within reach of a click. STREAMIT requires no decoder, registration procedures or additional software installation... and above all it can cancel loading and video display time, allowing users the traditional “TV zapping” also on-line. STREAMIT even offers for free an original technological “gadget”: a convenient software that can transform a normal mobile phone into a real remote control to “jump” from one STREAMIT channel to another one while sitting comfortably seated in your armchair.
Since it is completely free, STREAMIT access requirements are really the least; they can almost be reduced to one: a broadband Internet connection (ADSL). Anyone owning a broadband Internet connection (tests with a common medium-quality ADSL have shown excellent results!) can watch STREAMIT broadcasting - not only "live" ones but also on demand and then choose WHAT and WHEN to watch - either through a computer monitor screen (PC, Mac, even laptop), or through a beautiful XXL TV, just connecting the computer to the TV by a simple cable.

In our view, STREAMIT represents a television model without precedent, both because it is able to reach a potentially infinite number of users (without losing online broadcast video image quality or lengthening the display time) and because of the interactivity level offered. Think only that using the option viewing “on demand” you can choose what time watching your favourite programme, thus planning your personal programme schedule based on your tastes and entertainment, culture or information needs . And all of that is absolutely for free. As if the 72 theme channels (and the channels’ number is still rising) and the programming options on demand were not enough, STREAMIT also offers dedicated blogs and forums, in addition to the possibility to connect via webcam with a friend (or just another “spectator” sharing our same tastes) so as to share and comment a programme. We could call it the dawn of the Social-TV.
Since all these offers are free, it is obvious to expect the presence of advertising. But even in this case, STREAMIT surprised us. Indeed, on STREAMIT advertising does never bother the spectator watching a programme with usual and frequent interruptions. The timing (schedule) of the spots is still very small> and confined to the beginning of a programme, never in-between. Moreover spots on STREAMIT - and it seems almost surreal that I, must admit, despite hating publicity - have turned out to be added value for the spectator in some cases. During our tests we could not help but notice that ads are always contextualized to the programme you are about to see. Consequently, it is not uncommon that they provide spectators with further commercial information of any use. Therefore, this is not generic publicity, the so called “Shot in the pile”, but it is rather advertising associated with broadcasts related to the advertised product target, directly addressed to a number of selected users.
Finally, we want to point out that STREAMIT offers contents and user interfaces in different languages: Italian, English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.
Log on, then. And enjoy your STREAMIT broacasts maybe with your new remote control-cellular (or as we wish to call it in the future!) or bluetooth.
